TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

I am a Senior Accredited and Registered counsellor who has worked in Bristol for 12 years. I hold a Masters Degree in Counselling from the University of Bristol (having first completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling) and BSc (Hons) in Psychology.  An integrative training course is one in which various different approaches are taught and used. Although I work from a mainly person-centred approach, I combine many different approaches into my work to suit the individual needs of a client.

The clients I have worked with have all come for their own unique reasons ranging from anxiety, stress and depression through to relationships and identity. Although I now work exclusively with private clients, I have previously worked for various charities and counselling agencies giving me a wide range of understanding and experience working with a variety of issues and concerns.

I have specialist training from the Online Therapy Institute to ensure that I can safely work online and over the phone with clients as a Certified Cyber Therapist.

Whilst I work with a wide range of clients, I also have specialist skills, training and experience with LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) individuals as well as other gender, sexuality and relationship diversity (GSRD).

Whoever you choose as the right counsellor for you it is important to check that they are a registered member of the NCPS, BACP or a member of UKCP. Further information can be found on the BACP website. If you are working with a counsellor or psychotherapist online they should be a member of ACTO in addition to their NCPS/UKCP membership.
